HUE Restaurant in Thornton Park Closes

Screen shot 2013-06-15 at 3.07.34 PMThis isn’t really “new” news, but some folks who don’t frequent the Thornton Park neighborhood or downtown Orlando on a regular basis may not’ve heard. HUE Restaurant, a staple of Thornton Park for over a decade, permanently closed its doors for business this past Memorial Day weekend.

Announced on their Facebook Page:

“As of Monday, May 27, 2013, HUE Restaurant has closed for business. We enjoyed 12 successful years as downtown Orlando’s most critically acclaimed and award-winning restaurant. Our team sincerely appreciates your support. Urban Life Management Restaurant Group is working on the next great concept for the HUE space in Thornton Park.”

We’ll certainly be watching closely to see who fills the gap here.

There is street parking, but it can be a little difficult. There is a parking garage directly behind the restaurant. Parking entrances are located at the west side of the building, on North Eola Drive and at the north side of the building, on East Washington Street. Nominal fees may apply.

You realize this post is about the restaurant closing, right? And not where to park?
